FALKIRK COMMEMORATION - 18th JULY 2026
Falkirk Schools Pipe Band lead the march

The Battle of Falkirk 1298 event 18th July 2026

Following Falkirk Council's decision not to host the commemoration in the town centre, as had been the case for the past three years, the commemoration reverted to the traditional march from the old kirk to the cairn in Callander Park. After the laying of wreaths at the tombs of Sir John de Graeme and Sir John Stewart there, the march left for the cairn. Speeches made, wreaths laid, and a member's grandson helped raise the saltire. Many thanks to Falkirk Schools Pipeband who led the march to the cairn, and their piper who played the lament. Hopefully next year we can return to the town centre for a bigger, more public event.
