HUNTERSTON CASTLE CLAN GATHERING - 30th JULY 2024

Clan Gathering, Hunterston Castle 30th July 2024

Members of the Society were invited to attend the annual Clan Hunter Gathering held over the weekend, where members of the Clan from as far afield as Australia, Canad and the United States of America get together to remember their Scottish association. Cha and Gordon were there in full armed splandour, and Nick (plus apprentice Florence) manned the medieval weaponry table. The weather stayed fine, and the ensemble were treated to displays from the Kilwinning archers, medieval weaponry and armour, and guided tours of the castle, along with a substantial buffet. Madame Pauline was presented with a momento of her long chieftainship, and we were all treated to a very involved and amusing journey through the Clan Hunter's history, from the 1100's to the present day. Children enjoyed Martin's haggis hurling lessons, and everyone seemed to have an enjoyable day out. Thanks are due to Clan Hunter for inviting us to share in their celebrations.
