This year's St Andrews Day Rally was held in Armadale West Lothian and a tremendous turnout in quite dreadful conditions made the occasion so enjoyable even though our banner resembled a kite at times such was the ferocity of the wind, at least the rain held off for the duration of the march, someone up there is definitely watching over us.
The Society was very well represented and the place was full of well kent faces and some new ones which is always wonderful to see.
We marched behind the excellent Torphichen and Bathgate Pipe band and we were very well looked after by Borders and Lothian Police and our official stewards, well done to everyone for making it a safe and most enjoyable march through Armadale. Plenty of folk lined the streets to watch us march by and given the conditions it was greatly appreciated by us all.
We settled in the Highlander Hotel for speeches and some renewing of friendships old and new.
Big well done to George Thom for a job well done, to the hotel for making us all very welcome, and of course to the musicians on the night; Scocha, Fiery Jack, the Pumpin' Jehosafatz and Neil Clark for giving us a first class evening of entertainment.
Well done to everyone for making this an event to remember once again and special mention to the Lothian and Borders Police for all their help with the march, thanks guys.
