STIRLING BRIG COMMEMORATION 2024

Battle of Stirling Bridge Commemoration - 15th September 2024

This year's commemoration was introduced by Ted Christopher with a rendition of 'Scots Wha Hae', which was then followed by a talk by Steven Hughes on the battle itself. The old saltire was then lowered to half mast for the minute's silence, then fully lowered to be replaced with the new saltire, and as per usual, the cords resisted... it's fast becoming an annual tradition! After a brief struggle, it was then raised during Ted's 'I'm Coming Home'. Some flowers were laid, then Ted played 'Flower of Scotland' and that was the end of this year's commemoration. Thanks to all who attended, who included folk from Germany, Sweden and China! A number of those attending then headed off for some more music with Ted Christopher in Vinneys Bar Stirling at 3 pm.
